The Actor’s Nightmare:Â April 14th-16th
Our Brown Bag Theatre this Semester, in The Actor’s Nightmare by Christopher Durang . we find ourselves in the shoes of George; A typical, average, run of the mill everyman who has accidentally found himself backstage moments before the start of a theatrical performance, and is mistaken by the stage manager to be a last minute replacement actor, and is thrust onstage with absolutely no clue about the play, the lines, or anything at all. Watch in absolute horror, dismay, anxiety, and confusion as we watch George navigate his way, line by line, movement by movement through the theatrical worlds of Noel Coward, Shakespeare, Samuel Beckett, and an award-winning British historical drama.Â
Student Short Play Festival: April 23rd-26th
**Description courtesy of Concord Theatricals**Â
Back again by popular demand, this festival of short plays is unique in that all of them are original works written by students, directed by students, and acted by King’s Students. In 1 night, you will be transported to various theatrical worlds, each with their own unique style, voice, and point of view. Some will make you laugh or cry, some will make you think or inspire you, but all of them will entertain you!Â

The Laramie Project: May 9th-11th
(Student Capstone )
**Description courtesy of Dramtist Play Services**Â
In October 1998, a twenty-one-year-old student at the University of Wyoming was kidnapped, severely beaten, and left tied to a fence in the middle of the prairie outside Laramie, Wyoming. he died several days later in an area hospital. His name was Matthew Shepard, and he was the victim of this assault because he was gay. Moisés Kaufman and fellow members of the Tectonic Theater Project made six trips to Laramie over the course of a year and a half, in the aftermath of the beating and during the trial of the two young men accused of killing Shepard. They conducted more than 200 interviews with the people of the town. Some people interviewed were directly connected to the case, while others were citizens of Laramie, and the breadth of the reactions to the crime is fascinating.Â
