Widmann Gallery Evolution of Music and Black Authors Posters Display

This exhibit educates viewers about some of the most important Black writers of the last 50 years. The posters supplement the African American Evolution of Music presentation by demonstrating another key aspect of African American culture:  literature. These posters originated as an assignment in Dr. Robin Field English seminar class: “Toni Morrison and Her Children,” where they read contemporary Black writers from 1970 onward.

Sharing these posters with the King’s community allows more readers to find their next favorite author. The posters include a brief biography of the author, their major accomplishments and works, and why their writing should be read by the general public.
