You are invited to join us on Monday, October 12th at 4:00 p.m. in the Burke Auditorium for a lecture by author Matthew Restall. In celebration of Indigenous Peoples’ Day, Restall will be presenting a lecture on his book, The Nine Lives of Christopher Columbus. It entertains the idea that the life of Christopher Columbus is multifaceted and has been interpreted differently by communities around the world. Some communities are quick to claim Columbus as their own, while others believe that he does not deserve the titles he has been given.
A Q&A session will follow the lecture, giving the audience a chance to engage in discussion with Restall. Additionally, 20 copies of Restall’s book will be for sale for a discounted price of $12 each! This event is free to attend and is not restricted to members of the Honors Program, so please feel free to bring friends with you to attend the lecture. Please see the attached poster for more info!
