Dr. Noreen O’Connor, professor of English, co-edited New Readings of Elizabeth von Arnim: The Unexpected Modernist, published by Edinburgh University Press, with Dr. Jennifer Shepherd of The Open University, United Kingdom. The collection brings together established and emerging scholars to reconsider von Arnim’s contribution to literary modernism, introducing new critical contexts, previously neglected novels, and previously unseen archival materials. O’Connor contributed a chapter titled “Women Who Take to the Sofa: Rewriting Narratives of Marriage and Motherhood in Elizabeth von Arnim’s The Pastor’s Wife.”
Dr. O’Connor is a founding member of the International Elizabeth von Arnim Society and currently serves as the Society’s president. She has helped advance the author’s recognition in the field through scholarship, conference leadership, and international collaboration.
